
INTRODUCTION
Rognidana is a specialized branch of Ayurveda focused on the diagnosis and understanding of diseases through classical Ayurvedic principles and modern diagnostic methods. The department deals with disease identification, clinical examination, laboratory investigations, and interpretation of diagnostic findings for accurate treatment planning.
The department provides practical and clinical training in Ayurvedic as well as modern diagnostic techniques. It is well-equipped with more than 60 charts, a rich collection of over 60 reference books, various models, specimens, and teaching materials that support effective and interactive learning. The department also has a well-equipped laboratory with updated and advanced diagnostic machines for routine investigations and clinical demonstrations.
Clinical exposure, case discussions, and diagnostic training help students develop practical skills in patient examination, disease assessment, and interpretation of laboratory findings, thereby strengthening their clinical and diagnostic competence.
Objectives
- To understand the fundamental concepts of Roga, Rogi, Nidana Panchaka, and Samprapti.
- To gain knowledge of etiology, pathogenesis, and disease classification with Ayurvedic–modern correlation.
- To develop skills in clinical examination and diagnostic methods (Trividha, Panchavidha, Ashtavidha Pariksha).
- To perform and interpret basic laboratory investigations for accurate diagnosis.
- To apply analytical thinking and diagnostic knowledge in clinical practice.
- To inculcate ethical values, communication skills, and research-oriented approach.
