The Department of Swasthavritta and Yoga is the cornerstone of preventive and promotive healthcare in Ayurveda. Focused on the principle of "Swasthyasya Rakshanam" (preservation of health in the healthy), the subject integrates the ancient wisdom of Dinacharya (daily regimen), Ritucharya (seasonal regimen), and Pathya-Apathya (dietetics) with modern social and preventive medicine. By incorporating Yoga and Naturopathy, the department provides a holistic framework for combating lifestyle disorders and promoting community health.

Objectives

  • Clinical Proficiency- To train students in assessing Prakriti (constitution) and prescribing personalized health regimens.
  • Therapeutic Yoga- To enable students to demonstrate and teach Yoga asanas, Pranayama, and Shatkarma for both wellness and therapy.
  • Public Health Awareness- To participate in National Health Programs and implement Ayurvedic strategies in community health hygiene.
  • Scientific Research- To encourage evidence-based studies on the efficacy of Ayurvedic lifestyle modifications.
